Since his first solo exhibition in 1980, Ken Done has become one of Australia’s most renowned artists. Known for his vibrant and original style, his work is celebrated worldwide and held in numerous collections.

Ken Done has held over 100 solo exhibitions, with major shows in Australia, Europe, Japan, and the USA. His work has also been included in prominent Australian art prizes such as the Archibald, Sulman, Wynne, Blake, and Dobell Prizes.

Done has contributed to many significant projects, including painting a BMW Art Car, designing covers for the Japanese magazine Hanako for over 15 years, creating artwork for the Opening and Closing Ceremony programs of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games', and designing the decorative scheme for the Garden Restaurant at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum. In 1994, the Powerhouse Museum hosted a major retrospective of his work, Ken Done: The Art of Design and in 2002, the museum acquired his extensive archive of over 300 commercial art and design pieces.

In 1992, Ken Done was awarded the Order of Australia (A.M.) for his contributions to art, design, and tourism. Around the world, Ken Done has come to symbolise Australia and Australians: creative, optimistic and bold.
