Inspired by Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s short story The Yellow Wallpaper (1892), The Wallpaper draws a connection between the sensation of unease within one’s home and the feeling of discomfort in one’s mind.

Reclaiming materials associated with traditional gender roles, Mel Booth employs embroidery and textiles as a means to critically examine the intersection of identity, psychology and place.
