Penelope Cain

Landscape in its widest definition is central to Penelope’s art practice. Penelope says, “I am concerned with landscapes of the Anthropocene- extracted, occupied, transformed landscapes that bear the manifest marks of human habitation, commerce and utilisation. I’m deeply concerned about the impact of climate change on the land.”

Penelope has been awarded residencies at the British School in Rome, Power Institute Award residency, Cite International des Arts, Paris, Asialink residency, Taipei, and most recently, the Glenfiddich Contemporary Art Award Residency, Scotland.
